Driving Digital Transformation Through Responsible AI
In partnership with the World Bank Group, Fundación ANDAP, and Coursera, this initiative seeks to strengthen the capabilities of leaders, decision-makers, and professionals across The Globe to understand, design, and implement responsible, secure, and development-oriented Artificial Intelligence strategies. Through world-class learning pathways, participants will explore the opportunities enabled by AI, the foundations of data and digital infrastructure, talent development, governance, regulation, and risk management. The program is designed to prepare institutions and countries to lead digital transformation with strategic vision, technical capacity, and a strong commitment to responsible innovation.
Learning Pathways
Practical, world-class training to lead responsible AI and digital transformation.
1. The Artificial Intelligence Opportunity Landscape
Artificial Intelligence is transforming governments, businesses, and societies at an unprecedented pace. However, not every solution requires large-scale models or complex infrastructure. This pathway provides participants with a clear understanding of global AI trends, practical opportunities for implementation, and successful use cases in development contexts. Participants will explore how to leverage AI to generate public value, foster innovation, and accelerate digital transformation within their institutions.
2. Data, Infrastructure, and Governance for AI
The success of any AI initiative depends on the quality of its data, the robustness of its technological infrastructure, and the governance mechanisms that support it. This pathway offers a practical understanding of how to build reliable data ecosystems, enable scalable technology platforms, and design governance frameworks that allow AI to be implemented safely and effectively. Participants will explore key topics such as data quality, cloud computing, interoperability, and responsible information management.
3. Talent, Ecosystems, and Investment for Digital Transformation
AI-driven transformation requires new capabilities, specialized talent, and innovation ecosystems that connect government, academia, the private sector, and entrepreneurs. This pathway enables participants to understand how to develop institutional capabilities, identify skills gaps, design workforce development strategies, and create enabling environments for investment and the adoption of emerging technologies.
4. Governance, Regulation, and Responsible AI Procurement
The adoption of AI requires governance frameworks capable of balancing innovation, risk management, and the protection of fundamental rights. This pathway provides tools to understand leading regulatory approaches, the ethical challenges associated with AI, and best practices for procuring and acquiring technology-based solutions. Participants will strengthen their ability to make informed decisions that promote responsible innovation and maximize public value.
5. Cybersecurity and Risk Management in AI Systems
As organizations integrate AI into their operations and decision-making processes, challenges related to security, privacy, and risk management become increasingly relevant. This pathway addresses the main risks associated with AI systems, assessment methodologies, and strategies to strengthen digital resilience. Participants will become familiar with international reference frameworks and practical tools to manage technological risks in complex institutional environments.
